Recycling Slurry Wastewater

20/05/2020, 10:00AM

As we are discovering, we cannot always do the same thing our predecessors did when it comes to concrete production and slurry wastewater. With increasing quality control standards and environmental regulations, we need to develop new ways for today’s challenges.

In an effort to meet increasing environmental regulations, minimise waste and reduce operating costs, we at Slurry Solutions Australia have an innovative solution for recycling, treating and disposing of concrete wastewater onsite.

Slurry wastewater is caustic and has a high pH value ranging between 11 and 12. It contains dissolved solids which can include sulphates and hydroxides from cement, oil and grease from equipment and derivatives from chemical admixtures.

SlurrySep Floc will rapidly settle the solids from slurry water to the bottom of settlement ponds and will keep these solids in a state of suspension. In doing so, the pH of the slurry water is also lowered to an acceptable level; leaving clear water on top to be easily pumped out for reuse.

Slurry Sep is most effective when the solid content is no greater than 20%; this will allow the bentonite clay to encapsulate the solids effectively.

Years ago, I got hurt really badly when I used Hydrochloric Acid to clean up some brick repair work on my barbecue area. This time I used SlurrySafe AR, and there was no danger at all. Didn't even have to use gloves.

This SlurrySafe product almost sounds too good to be true. But we used it ourselves and I saw first hand that it works exactly like they show on the demo videos. And it really was not harmful to our skin. Thank you Slurry Solutions Australia.
